What You Can See at the Victoria & Albert Museum
Take your pick from the Museum’s many galleries and collections. Whether you like a more classic museum visit with historical artefacts or are a fashionista interested to see the changes in fashion over the centuries, there really is a great deal to explore.
So come on and step right on in! You’ll first come across the Grand Entrance, and grand it most certainly is. Equally as impressive as its intricate stonework exterior is its pillared interior, dome and balconies.
Straight ahead you will spot the Victoria and Albert Museum Shop; this is a great place to go for gifts! From jewellery inspired by the Museum collections to interesting fashion pieces, have a lovely browse here.
Galleries
Where to begin? On Level 0 there are plenty of galleries you can tour around. Venture over to Asia with their China, Japan, Korea and South Asia Galleries or spend some time observing some interesting Victorian Casts at Cast Court. But, this is not all! On this level, you can go back in time and wander around the Medieval and Renaissance Gallery or view centuries of fashion in their fashion gallery.
Going up! How’s about discovering more of Britain’s past from 1500 to 1760 or perhaps you’re interested in art forms like ceramics, silverware and even performing arts? Then have fun exploring the Museum’s upper levels.
The John Madejski Garden
Fancy a sit-down? Or ready for a break and a bit of fresh air? Good shout! You can head out to the John Madejski Garden. This a great place to rest up for a bit or even have a spot of lunch. You will also find some outdoor installations here too.
The National Art Library

Tour the Latest Exhibitions
As well as browse the vast Museum collections, you can also check out their latest exhibitions. Unzip the history of bags at the Victoria and Albert Museum’s ‘Bags: Inside Out’ Exhibition, running until January 2022. From designer label bags like Mulberry to historic accessories, Winston Churchill’s ‘Despatch Box’, see how the handy bag has been used in many ways.
Admission: Entry into the Exhibition is £12.00 for adults and free for children aged 12 and under.
