Where are the Narnia filming locations in the Czech Republic?

Ceske Svycarsko National Park (Bohemian Switzerland)

About an hour and a half away from Prague lies the beautiful Ceske Svycarsko National Park. Arguably the greatest place to see Narnia filming locations in the Czech Republic.

You can take a day trip to Ceske Svycarsko from Prague to see Narnia filming locations. This day trip will include round-trip hotel transfers and a guide to show you Tisa and Pravcicka Brana areas. To check availability for this day trip from Prague to see Narnia filming locations, click here.

One of the most significant Narnia filming locations in Ceske Svycarsko is the Tisa Rocks Labyrinth. This is where Lucy is led through the snowy landscape of Narnia to Mr Tumnus’ house near the beginning of the film.

A short distance from Tisa lies Pravcicka Brana, the largest natural sandstone arch in Europe. Over this arch, the Pevensie children were lead by the beavers to point out the realm of Aslan. The arch is strickly off-limits due to its fragile nature. Even the cast had to be digitally added. However, you can still view it from different points in the park.

Barrandov Studios, Prague

The Narnia filming locations in the Czech Republic for interiors and smaller sets were filmed in Barrandov Studios, Prague. Barrandov is one of the oldest and biggest filming studios in Europe. Since 1931, 2500 Czech and International productions have been filmed there. Some of the most famous projects include Mission Impossible, The Bourne Identity, Casino Royale, Jojo Rabbit and, of course, The Chronicles of Narnia.

Entire sets and buildings were created at Barrandov Studios for the second film in the Narnia series, Prince Caspian including, Miraz’s Castle, Aslan’s How, and interiors.

Barrandov offers tours and the opportunities to go behind the scenes at real productions. For updates and to check availability for Barrandov Studios, click here.

Adrspach National Park

Adrspach National Park is home to the snowy wastelands of Narnia. Thousands of years have contributed to the epic rock formations and vast landscape. Visiting Adrspach truly is a jaw-dropping experience. Not only can you see filming locations but you can get in touch with nature and be blown away by the impressive settings.

You can take tours of Adrspach National Park but if you don’t want to be surrounded by crowds, we would recommend avoiding the peak summer months.

Narnia filming locations outside of the Czech Republic

Other Narnia filming locations outside the Czech Republic include parts of New Zealand for the beach scene and the ruins of Cair Paravel and Kentwell Hall in the UK for the Professor’s House, and parts of Poland for forest scenes.
